I have been having such fun over the last few years with a simple little fixed-focal-length camcorder that the time was right to advance to something a little more "grown-up." I guess all my hints did not go unnoticed as my peeps pitched-in an got me the Samsung F-90 I have been eying [smiley:;)]

I had done quite a bit of research to arrive at this model camera. The one feature it lacks - that I really desired in a camcorder - is the ability to accept an external microphone but that luxury would cost an additional $300 or more... if I find I cannot live without that feature it is going to require some sort of "kick-starter" campaign or some other angle to acquire it.

I am still amazed that if I want to make a motion picture all I have to do is make one. Having come from the world of Super-8 film making, this is such a dream come true! [smiley::D]

That looks like a nifty machine. I need to replace my old 2005-phone so I want to try out the camera on my new smart phone (after I have decided which one to buy). I made some 8 mm movies when I was young, maybe I transfer them to digital, but first I want to learn how to edit movies at my pc.

Those iPhones are not bad little cameras for the most part (just ask my wife.)

Keeping the lens clean and using some sort of support are two of the best pieces of advice I could think of for those...

In fact, I just found this video for making a tripod adapter for the iPhone that might get some wheels turning:

I am no expert in video editing but I could be a resource for how to do it without spending money. Feel free to give me a shout if you have any questions along those lines [smiley::D]

That reminds me, Rob... I better get to transferring my 8mm to digital before they crumble and the splicing tapes dry out - if they haven't already.
