I certainly concur with your sentiments gatorwoman and thank you for offering such a thoughtful comment.

I have always been an advocate for energy conservation but find this whole incandescent vs florescent lighting topic just flat-out wrong-headed. I really don't know the complete story behind the dictate to ban tungsten lightning at the manufacturing/consumer level but find this very disturbing. If a product offers true advantages then, it seems to me the superior product will succeed and the inferior product will fail.

This is nothing less than a slap in the face of free market economics. If this travesty is allowed to stand one can easily imagine other products and services that might be summarily outlawed because of flawed logic and manipulative policy makers. This is just the sort of thing that would have been unimaginable 15 years ago. The take-away here is "get ready - the days of the internal combustion engine are truly numbered" - mark my words.
