It was bound to happen, after months of watching other bloggers do it and do it well, I’ve finally mixed my patterns! I don’t know what took me so long, I guess it was nerves. We were always taught to never ever mix florals and plaids or stripes and dots.
But then we were also taught not to wear white after Labor Day and I threw that out the window years ago. So, you’d think I would’ve tossed this rule too. Maybe I’m a little bit more traditional than I like to think. shudder
This pattern mixing worked for me because the main color of the cardi matched the accent colors in the tee. I don’t know if I could do pattern matching with mixed matched colors. Which is so odd for me considering my matching code goes something like this: “If you see the colors together in nature, you can wear them together on your body."

And speaking of being traditional and all that, I recently read a discussion about how female bloggers (specifically, fashion bloggers) are all starting to dress alike because they’re we’re being so influenced by each other. Hmmm, interesting thought but I don’t agree. I think, if anything, there’s more celebration and embracing of the uniqueness and diversity of style that exists among women.
What do you think? Are we all starting to dress alike?
