While sorting some files on the hard drive today I came across GOODTIMS.AVI [31MB]. Perhaps you've heard of it. This is a music video file that was included as an "Easter Egg[*1] " of sorts, on the distribution disk for Windows 95. As hard as it is for me to believe - there is a whole generation (and then some) that have likely never seen or heard of this video. That's okay because I have probably seen this enough to make up for all of those who haven't
GoodTimes.avi features Edie Brickell & New Bohemians singing Edie's song "Good Times"- a feel good tune if ever there was one.

I was first introduced to Edie Brickell & New Bohemians on Saturday Night Live (Season 14, Episode 4[*2] ) where they performed "What I Am"
According to SongFacts.com[*3] : ["What I Am"] got a huge bump when the band performed it on Saturday Night Live. The actor Matthew Modine and the abrasive, chain-smoking talk show host Morton Downey Jr. also appeared on the show, making it the highest-rated episode of 1988. The show is also notable as the first time Brickell met Paul Simon.
I have been searching the internet for a video from that installment of SNL but have come up empty handed. Here is their appearance on David Letterman from the same year.
